Today light emitting diodes are gaining more popularity for its use in various applications. Not only does it serve as a lighting source, but also it is a good energy saver. The small size and flexibility makes LEDs to use it in different forms that include led display, led tube lights, flood lights, string lights etc.
The efficiency of LED lights is much greater when compared to ordinary lights. Most of the traditional bulbs waste energy in the form of heat. Only 20 percent of the total power is used for lighting. The heat dissipation damages the material and the light will burn out within a short run. Moreover, the filaments are fragile that they are not able to withstand extreme weather conditions. All these shortcomings are solved in the case of LED lights. The light emitting diodes are capable of converting the whole power to useful light. The energy needed for single LED to light up is just one tenth of the power consumed by an ordinary bulb. This means only a fraction of energy is drawn for effective lighting. The extra power can be used to light up more number of lights. The absence of heat and other radiations makes LEDs a great option for an environment friendly lighting.
LED lights are available in many forms. The power consumption, size and coloring effect are different according to the usage. LEDs that draw less than 1W are used in LED lamps, tube lights, string lights, LED ropes and wall lights. High power led is used in flood lights, flash lights and traffic lights. The power ratings of these lights range from 1W to 100W. But they have improved features like full color spectrum, dimming capabilities, thermal management and ESD protection.
It has proved that no other light source can be as efficient as LEDs. So it is time to change your old lights to LEDs.
