As the title says, I’m sick and tired of paying the rental car companies a daily rate when I can just buy my own car GPS and get the same service. I understand that a GPS is pretty much a requirement when you’re away from home but does it really make sense that I pay more renting a unit for one week than it costs new?
Anyways, I did a little shopping around and I’m looking at a Garmin Nuvi 255w. It seems like the perfect mix of features and affordability. It has a fairly large screen at just over four inches and it comes preloaded with maps of the entire country. Since I spend about five weeks a year travelling for business, I figure this purchase will pay for itself five times over in just the first year. It’s always nice when I get to buy a new toy and have it make financial sense as well!
